If you’ve followed our updates over the last few weeks, – read about our significant announcement here. You’ll be aware some changes are coming for The Circus, which is the founding of The Circus Group, an umbrella organization that will bring all of the entrepreneurial efforts that are part of The Circus GbR and the other companies that The Circus shareholders own. From now on, we will only operate as The Circus Group and plan two exciting future projects: The Circus Living in Berlin, The Circus Living in Berlin, and The Circus Retreat in Italy.
For the past few years, The Circus Hostel, Hotel, and Apartment have been owned and managed through The Circus GbR and its five shareholders: Andreas Becker, Andreas Digel, Christian Goppert, Andrew Hadfield, and Tilman Hierath. Alongside the modifications in the operating structure and structure of The Circus GbR, four shareholders still own the company but are being removed from the daily operations of the company. The creation of The Circus Group is designed to permit new projects to come up that involve all or some of the shareholders currently in place while preserving The Circus’s identity and philosophy across all projects branded with the same name.
The creation of The Circus Group comes with the first two projects. Suppose you keep an eye on our social media channels. In that case, you will have heard about the announcement of the Circus Retreat located in the 600-year-old Castello Santa Maria in Civitella d’Agliano, 90 kilometers north of Rome. Similar to Goethe and Rilke before us, we’ve been attracted by Italy’s beautiful and soft landscapes. And now, we have our castle to enjoy peace and peace in the olive groves.
The Circus Retreat will feature 28 large and spacious guest rooms as well as duplex suites and villas situated on a sprawling 200,000m2 site amid the stunning Bagnoregio, which was the inspiration of Hayao Miyazaki, the renowned designer who is the creator of Studio Ghibli fame. In The Circus Retreat, our restaurant, we will use the finest products Lazio and Umbria provide, as well as fitness facilities, a fitness center and spa with a private swimming pool, and meeting facilities. If you’d prefer to celebrate your wedding event with us, a chapel dating back to the medieval period allows you to marry your partner.
We’re incredibly thrilled about our Italian adventure. Remember the blog for more updated photos and information concerning The Circus Retreat in the coming weeks.
The closest to home. The Circus Living will be our fourth home in Berlin. It is located near Ostbahnhof; the Circus Living will provide 207 services, fully-equipped apartments in central Berlin, coworking spaces, cafes, and a rooftop bar. In our announcement of the past few days, we provided more details about the plan, and we’ll be putting additional information on our blog over the next few weeks.
Along with four shareholders and four shareholders, The Circus GbR, this new venture will also bring on board as owners, along with their experience and expertise, two members of the top leadership team of the firm, Katrin Schonig and Louis Bonneterre. At the beginning of The Circus Group, we aimed to offer opportunities to team employees to move through the company and join us on projects they have developed independently.
We’re confident that this is not just an excellent opportunity for the people who collaborate with us but also for The Circus as a whole, with the potential to bring new ideas and new inspiration to the level of ownership of the business. In the same way, even though specific projects may require new shareholders, We remain focused on eliminating the potential involvement of investors solely motivated by profit. Shareholders have been closely involved in the company’s running and have made decisions that adhere to our common principle first.
Of course, it’s crucial to us that all projects within The Circus tent – and we’re excited and hopeful to announce new projects in the future – adhere to our principles. In the end, with The Circus Retreat and The circus retreat and The Circus Living towards the close of 2023 and through 2024, We will offer an array of lodging options in Berlin that includes dorm beds in hostels and boutique hotels, luxurious apartment homes, high-end living spaces, and even an enchanting castle located in The Italian countryside.
Our guests come from all over the world. They will be at different stages of their lives and have diverse goals and financial plans. However, our ethos is such that our guests, regardless of where they stay, will recognize the most critical components in The Circus DNA that make us who we are.
You can learn more about our principles here; however, our mission and purpose as The Circus Group remain clear. We view travel as an avenue for social connections and communication. We aim to maintain an affinity with our surroundings and to be committed to our community. We value the sustainability of our community and independence in everything our activities. We want to greet our guests like we would like to receive.
Since opening the doors of our first hostel in 1997, we welcomed travelers from Berlin in 1997. Since then, our hostel has been growing, and the Circus Group with The Circus Living and The Circus Retreat to come is just the next chapter in the story. We’re excited to share more of our experiences with you in the months and weeks.
